SUMMIT HEALTHCARE FOUNDATION DENIM AND DIAMONDS BALL NETS $156,115 IN CASH AND IN-KIND DONATIONS

The Eighth Annual Denim and Diamonds Ball held on April 4 netted $156,115 in cash and in-kind donations to benefit Summit Healthcare. The cash proceeds, upwards of $80,000, will
help fund the purchase of state-of-the-art equipment for Summit Healthcare's Mammography Department. Summit Healthcare Foundation, Sierra Springs Development, and Torreon Golf Club hosted the Denim and Diamonds Ball at Torreon Golf Club, with Chris Stevens from Majik 101 serving as Master of Ceremonies.

Our silent and live auctions in conjunction with our balloon raffle brought in almost $22,982 cash revenue
as bidding wars ensued over the many unique items.   Top sellers at the silent auction included liposuction donated by Dr. Plowman, a custom hand crafted juniper bench donated by Curt Meyer, legal estate planning services donated by Jack Barker, Health/Firewise Tree Trimming and Removal services and a season pass to Sunrise Park.   The live auctions were very competitive and included a weekend get-away at Hidden Meadow Ranch, a Torreon Golf  package, a Pinetop Country Club Golf package, Diamondbacks Box Seats, a Xanterra Grand Canyon South Rim package, a "pamper yourself" basket, and a "Pets for Pals" photography session!

Our dessert auction was filled with decadent delights
, including a beautiful Flourless Chocolate Torte created by Chef Eduardo Meta of Torreon, delicious chocolate desserts from a peanut butter and chocolate cake created and decorated by Jim Conklin especially for the Denim and Diamonds Ball to a "Death by Chocolate" cake created by our own Debbie Goodman; a "Pink Ribbon" cake donated by Café Bocado and a chocolate and raspberry torte that sold twice - once during the silent auction and then at a special live auction!  There was something for every palate; carrot cakes, chocolate cakes, a luscious lemon layer splash and pastries!  Thank you to all who participated to make this our most successful dessert auction ever.  The dessert auction raised a total of $5280 cash revenue with $425 being the highest bid on the "Fantastic Chocolate Peanut Butter Lovers Cake", created by Jan Corder.

The Summit Healthcare Foundation is thankful to Sierra Springs Development and Torreon Golf Club, our generous co-sponsors, to Torreon Golf Club for the fabulous service, elegant food and environment, and to our corporate sponsors, local vendors, event attendees, volunteers, and committee members who coordinated this event.
